American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Med/Surg Telemetry position in San Marcos, TX, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active TX or compact RN license.

Acute Med/Surg unit within a hospital setting
-
Patient population includes orthopedic, colorectal, urology, sepsis, small bowel obstruction (SBO), and geriatric/gynecology cases
-
Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

13-week contract

Active RN license in TX or via a compact state

Current BLS certification (AHA only) required

Current ACLS certification (AHA only) required

Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty

US Social Security Number required for consideration

BSN preferred

Provides nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation

Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness

Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families

Responsible for patient and family education, including identifying learning needs and available resources

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
