American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU position requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center teaching hospital setting
-
NICU III/IV unit caring for neonates ranging from <24-28 weeks to >34 weeks gestation
-
Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:3 depending on acuity
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:00

Variable weekend shifts required
-
Floating between units and sister facilities within the state required
-
No on-call requirements
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Active WA or compact RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration

BLS and NRP certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
-
1:3 patient ratio experience required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, and administration of blood/blood products
-
Experience with UAC and UVC lines
-
Competency in neonatal medication administration including vasopressors, antibiotics, anti-seizure medications, and neonatal dosage calculations
-
Experience with respiratory support including CPAP, HFNC, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and ventilator management
-
Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and neonatal sepsis workups
-
Experience with feeding management including gavage, breastfeeding support, and NEC care
-
Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty required
-
Must provide response regarding any prior work history at a Providence facility as permanent, travel, or registry staff
-
Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care including respiratory, cardiovascular, neurologic, and gastrointestinal support
-
Deliver developmental care and support patient/family teaching
-
Manage isolation precautions and PPE for infectious disease control
-
Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
