At Cleveland Clinic's Transplant Center, experts perform a variety of transplantation procedures. Each year, thousands of lives are saved and transformed because of our innovative expertise. As Donor Procurement Coordinator, you will coordinate all activities related to the receipt of organ offers for transplant, evaluation of organ offers for suitability, procurement of organs and transplant set-ups. Your position is essential to the organization and functioning of the Transplant Center, allowing caregivers to supply patients with the necessary treatment they need.
A caregiver in this position works three to four 12-hour rotating shifts every week remotely in Northeast Ohio from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., with weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Comply with OPTN/UNOS requirements for post-transplant documentation of donor and transplant activities.
Serve as the contact for all potential offers for transplant from local, regional and national organ procurement organizations.
Organize the procurement team and dispatch team to the donor site within the required time frame.
Coordinate air or ground transportation of organs.
Serve as a resource for organ recovery and preservation.
Assist in training organ preservation caregivers.
Orient new residents and fellows to renal procurement, renal allocation and regulatory requirements.
Develop and present professional education programs as needed.
Obtain, analyze and report pertinent data regarding potential donors and accepted organs for transplants.
Attend selection committee meetings.
Abstract data and enter data into the transplant database.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field OR a degree/diploma from an accredited Nursing School, Respiratory Therapy Program or Paramedic Program
One year of experience as an organ procurement coordinator OR clinical experience in critical care or in the field of organ procurement/transplant
Maintain valid licenses and required certificates (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic)
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC)
Previous transplant or organ procurement experience
Related healthcare experience
UNOS/UNET experience and knowledge

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50
