Job purpose
The Mental Health Counselor will provide assessment and individual/group counseling sessions to ensure the behavioral health needs of those needing such services are effectively and efficiently served.
Duties and responsibilities

Assist with Open Access and the initial referral process

Complete assessment with diagnosis to explain medical necessity of treatment

Help clients define goals, plan action and gain insight

Encourage clients to discuss/examine emotions and experiences

Work with families

Help clients achieve identified goals

Develop therapeutic processes

Refer clients to other necessary services
-
Work with individuals, groups and communities to improve behavioral health

Take a holistic approach to behavioral health care

Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner

Complete other duties as required by the position and/or as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Qualifications

Education - Minimum of a Master degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related health field.

Skills/Abilities- Effective oral and written communication.

Professional Certification- Clinical practice license required, LPC, LCSW

Experience- Licensed QMHP as defined by State regulations
PLPC/LPC Pay range is 49,500 - 68,000
LMSW/LCSW Pay range is 55,000 - 78,000
Working conditions
General Conditions- Work is generally performed in office type settings where answering phone and using computers and other technology should be expected.

Physical requirements
General Conditions- Job duties may require sitting or standing for long periods of time. Travel, with some trips requiring several hours in a vehicle, should be expected. Minor lifting and moving may be expected requiring ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
