Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join a growing healthcare organization dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to a diverse patient population.
In this role, you'll work under the supervision of a licensed Dentist to deliver preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services while educating patients on maintaining lifelong oral health. This is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist who is passionate about preventive care and making a meaningful impact in the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments
- Review medical histories and complete dental and periodontal charting
- Evaluate patients for periodontal disease, oral lesions, and other oral health concerns
- Take digital dental radiographs as prescribed
- Perform:
- Prophylaxis
- Periodontal scaling
- Root planing
- Debridement
- Supra and subgingival scaling and curettage
- Fluoride treatments
- Dental sealants
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, brushing, flossing, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Assist with emergency patient care when necessary
- Follow infection control and sterilization procedures
- Support clinic efficiency through expanded duties permitted under Ohio law
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, accreditation standards, and clinic policies
- Complete continuing education requirements to maintain licensure
- Provide compassionate, culturally competent care to patients from diverse backgrounds
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program
- Current Ohio Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
- CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively
- Comfortable using electronic dental records, scheduling software, and digital radiography
Preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Polish)
- Experience serving diverse patient populations
- Passion for preventive dentistry and community health
