Your New Role
- Work as an HVAC and Plumbing Estimator in San Antonio, TX
- Review project plans, specifications, blueprints, and construction documents to determine project scope
- Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems
- Develop accurate construction cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Request, analyze, and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing for competitive bids
- Prepare RFIs and evaluate potential cost and scheduling impacts
- Update estimates based on project addendums, design revisions, and scope changes
- Review construction schedules and identify equipment procurement and lead-time considerations
- Identify project risks and opportunities for value engineering and cost efficiency
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and design teams throughout preconstruction and estimating
- Maintain current estimating databases, historical cost information, and material pricing
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and project site visits as needed
- Help ensure estimates align with applicable building codes, regulations, specifications, and construction standards
- Manage multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing bids while consistently meeting established deadlines

Job requirements
- At least 3 years of commercial HVAC and plumbing estimating experience
- Experience estimating projects involving office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, or industrial environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, mechanical construction methods, materials, equipment, and applicable building codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, technical drawings, and construction documents
- Experience with estimating and construction software such as Trimble, Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar platforms
- Proficiency with BuildingConnected, Procore, and Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, preconstruction, bidding, and project management practices
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, owners, engineers, and design teams
- Excellent mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple bids in a deadline-driven commercial construction environment
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field
- Ability to verify U.S. employment eligibility
