Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Houseman to join our hospitality team, committed to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout our property. In this vital role, you will support the housekeeping department by performing a variety of custodial and floor care tasks, ensuring a welcoming and pristine environment for guests and staff alike. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help uphold our reputation for exceptional service and comfort.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of guest rooms, hallways, public areas, and back-of-house spaces using appropriate cleaning techniques and equipment
- Handle chemical agents safely, following safety data sheets (SDS) and hotel protocols to ensure proper usage and storage
- Conduct floor cleaning procedures including vacuuming, mopping, buffing, and other floor care activities to maintain a spotless appearance
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving furniture or equipment in accordance with safety guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of all janitorial supplies and cleaning equipment, ensuring they are in good working order
- Support hotel housekeeping management by replenishing supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and adhering to sanitation standards
- Follow hotel emergency procedures promptly and effectively in case of incidents or safety concerns
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel housekeeping management or custodial roles within hospitality environments
- Strong knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, sanitation practices, and chemical handling procedures
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and extractors efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude towards guests and team members
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks including heavy lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with safety protocols including the use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and proper chemical handling practices
- Previous experience in industrial or hospital cleaning environments is a plus
- Knowledge of hotel emergency procedures and hospitality standards is highly desirable
