Accounts Receivable Specialist

Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.00/hour
Beacon Hill is working with a growing professional services firm in the Piscataway, NJ area that is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire opportunity offering strong exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance, along with opportunities for long-term growth and professional development.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a key role in supporting billing, collections, cash application, and customer account management functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to expand their accounting knowledge in a collaborative environment.

Manage the full accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment posting, and account reconciliation

Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with customers regarding payment status

Research and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries

Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate financial records

Apply cash receipts and ensure timely processing of payments

Prepare aging reports and assist with collection efforts

Collaborate with internal departments to resolve account issues and improve processes

Support month-end and year-end accounting activities as needed

Assist with special projects and provide backup support across accounting functions

Previous experience in accounts receivable, billing, collections, or a related accounting role

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems

Excellent communication and customer service abilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
