Power Stroke & Cummins Diesel Mechanic – Full-Time
CB Truck & Trailer is hiring an experienced full-time diesel mechanic for our shop in Newcastle, Oklahoma.
This position is primarily focused on Ford Power Stroke and Ram Cummins diesel trucks. Applicants must have extensive hands-on knowledge of 1994 and newer Power Stroke engines and 1994 and newer Cummins engines.
We are looking for someone who can accurately diagnose problems, complete repairs without constant supervision, and produce quality work without unnecessary comebacks.
Required Experience
Applicants must have:
- Extensive knowledge of 1994 and newer Ford Power Stroke engines
- Extensive knowledge of 1994 and newer Dodge/Ram Cummins engines
- Strong diesel diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Professional experience repairing diesel pickups
- At least basic working knowledge of gasoline engines
- The ability to diagnose problems instead of simply replacing parts
- The ability to work independently and manage jobs from diagnosis through completion
Experience with Duramax engines is a plus, but it is not required.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair 1994 and newer Power Stroke trucks
- Diagnose and repair 1994 and newer Cummins trucks
- Perform engine, fuel system, cooling system, electrical, emissions, and drivability repairs
- Complete turbocharger, injector, fuel delivery, oil leak, and cooling system work
- Diagnose check-engine lights, no-start conditions, warning lights, noises, leaks, and performance problems
- Perform brakes, steering, suspension, front-end, and general mechanical repairs
- Complete inspections and repairs on dealership inventory
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on gasoline-powered vehicles when needed
- Work on pickups, work trucks, trailers, and occasional medium-duty vehicles
- Document diagnostic findings, recommended repairs, parts needed, and labor performed
- Test-drive vehicles and verify repairs before returning them
- Complete work correctly and help prevent avoidable comebacks
Preferred Experience
- Several years of professional diesel repair experience
- Strong experience across multiple generations of Power Stroke and Cummins engines
- Experience using professional scan tools and electrical diagnostic equipment
- Experience with engine removal, replacement, and major internal repairs
- Experience diagnosing fuel system, turbocharger, emissions, and electrical problems
- Duramax experience is helpful but not required

Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to provide their own basic hand tools.
Compensation
- $30–$40 per hour, based on experience and demonstrated ability
- Full-time position
- Approximately 40 hours per week
- Performance-based raises and bonus opportunities may be available
- Consistent work from dealership inventory and outside customers
Pay will be based heavily on actual Power Stroke and Cummins experience, diagnostic ability, productivity, reliability, and quality of work.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- Full-time day shift
- No corporate dealership environment
- Some schedule flexibility may be available for the right candidate
About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to help build the service side of an established independent truck dealership.
The shop has two service bays, a regular flow of dealership vehicles, and room to grow outside customer repair work. The right mechanic could eventually grow into a lead technician or shop manager role as the repair operation expands.
