Duties
- Greet guests warmly and assist with menu selections, including wine and cocktail options, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Take accurate beverage and food orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and process sales transactions efficiently.
- Prepare and serve beverages, including cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, adhering to proper drink service standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar area, glassware, utensils, and bar tools in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Upsell menu items such as specialty cocktails or premium spirits to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Handle cash transactions accurately while managing tabs through POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms.
- Assist with food handling duties when necessary, including bussing tables and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on beverage service; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktail recipes, and beverage presentation techniques.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms for order entry and sales processing.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally and courteously.
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during high-volume periods while maintaining quality standards.
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing tabs efficiently.
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with upselling techniques to promote menu items confidently and increase sales revenue.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
