We’re looking for an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team.
Duties
- Bidding & Takeoffs: Lead quantity takeoffs and prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial ground-up projects.
- Scope Review: Thoroughly analyze project plans, specifications, and scope documents to catch potential gaps, risks, or constructability issues early.
- Subcontractor Relations: Reach out to trades, distribute bid packages, answer RFIs, and compare incoming quotes to ensure complete coverage.
- Proposal Delivery: Assemble clear, competitive, and well-organized final bid proposals for clients.
- Hand-offs: Work directly with project managers during pre-construction to review budgets, sub contracts, and project transition plans.
Experience
- 3+ years of estimating experience in commercial general contracting (ground-up, retail, office, or light industrial preferred).
- Strong ability to read blueprints, civil/structural/MEP drawings, and project specs.
- Solid sub-network and comfortable picking up the phone to negotiate or clarify quotes with trades.
- Experience with estimating software (Planswift, Bluebeam, On-Center, Excel, or similar tool).
- Self-motivated, attentive to details, and able to hit tight bid deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
