DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Coach, Athletic Director, and School Principal
SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position will assist in administering the athletic program under the leadership of the head coach and athletic director. Responsibilities will include coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork; additional duties may be assigned.

DUTIES:
Duties of the High School JV Football Head Coach shall include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
-Follows and maintains knowledge of District policies and procedures relevant to this position
- Instructs and demonstrates skill sets and techniques necessary for individual and team achievement
-Plans and sets-up activities, practices and games/meets as assigned by the head coach
-Develops appropriate training programs and practice schedules when assigned by the head coach
-Ensures that proper storage, maintenance and inventory of all athletic equipment and uniforms is adhered to
-Travels and assists with the supervision of student athletes on the team bus both to and from games
-Dresses in a professional manner during contests and public functions
-Adheres to all financial policies of the District in regards to collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts
-Makes recommendations regarding the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies to the head coach
-Enforces discipline policies and emphasizes sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles
-Supervises students in locker rooms at home and away games/meets and ensures appropriate behavior
-Ensures that appropriate rules and regulations regarding the conduct and eligibility of athletic activities and athletes are explained and followed
-Maintains a safe environment and facilities for student athletes at all times
-Ensures that medical and safety requirements are adhered to
-Completes District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours, even if student athlete does not see a physician

Coaching Certifications:
1. NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching courses
2. NFHS Concussion in Sports
3. NFHS Heat Illness Prevention
4. NFHS Cardiac Arrest
5. You must have proof of a current CPR certification.
6. CHEER COACHES ONLY need to take an additional Spirit Safety Certification offered through the American Association of Cheer Coaches and Administrators.
