You will be trained in the necessary skills, provided with the required feedback to grow and compensated for the skills that you develop.
Due to growth and expansion, we are currently seeking motivated and experienced Fitters to work at our Salt Lake City, UT facility. As a Fitter at Robinson Fans, you will be responsible for the layout, tacking, and fitting of all fabricated equipment. You must have keen attention to detail and the ability to weld as needed. The regular schedule for this position is M-F 6:00am-2:30pm.
What you’ll do
- Review project assignments/instructions from Team Leader.
- Review drawings and job travelers for specific requirements.
- Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan.
- Tack assembly together per specifications.
- Ensure work meets quality standards.
- Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes.
- Practice safety in all aspects of the job.
- Look for safety issues with equipment and processes.
- Additional responsibilities as needed.
What you bring
- A combination of training and strong fabricating experience is required for this position.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Read and understand Robinson fabrication drawings, blueprints, welding procedures, and shop travelers.
- Ability to read weld symbols.
- Solid written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in other departments.
- Ability to accept feedback and adapt to change.
- Innovative and resourceful when problem-solving.
- Fluent in English, working with written and verbal communication.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and safety boots, must be able to climb a ladder, hear safety alarms, and lift to 50lbs.
