Site Work Superintendent

Position Overview
McKinney Contracting is seeking an experienced Site Work Superintendent to manage site development and heavy civil construction projects throughout Gainesville and the surrounding North/Central Florida area. The Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day field operations, including workforce planning and scheduling, equipment and resource allocation, subcontractor coordination, production, quality, safety, and jobsite compliance.
Responsibilities
· Manage daily field construction activities and resources on assigned projects.
· Plan and schedule labor, equipment, materials, and other resources to maximize production and efficiency.
· Supervise earthwork, grading, underground utilities, storm drainage, and parking lot construction operations.
· Manage, track, and document daily work activities through appropriate reports, forms, and project documentation.
· Monitor project schedules and communicate progress, delays, and required schedule revisions with the Project Manager.
· Coordinate closely with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within scope.
· Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and other trades.
· Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, elevations, and details, and clearly communicate requirements to field crews.
· Provide leadership and direction to foremen, operators, laborers, and other field personnel.
· Monitor field production and implement corrective actions when necessary to improve efficiency and maintain schedules.
· Accompany inspectors, engineers, owners, clients, and other project representatives during inspections and site visits.
· Enforce McKinney Contracting policies and procedures and maintain a clean, organized, professional, and safe jobsite.
· Work alongside the Safety team to ensure compliance with company safety requirements and applicable OSHA guidelines.
Desired Qualifications
· 10+ years of experience in commercial and/or residential site development preferred.
· Proven field leadership or superintendent experience with a site development or heavy civil contractor.
· Strong experience with earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, and parking lot construction.
· Must be able to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications, and blueprints proficiently.
· Strong understanding of heavy equipment operations, field production, construction sequencing, equipment maintenance, and site-development best practices.
· Ability to effectively lead field crews while communicating and coordinating with the Project Manager.
· Strong organizational, planning, leadership, and communication skills.
· Ability to identify field problems and make sound decisions to keep production moving.
· Working knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements.
· Ability to physically perform duties associated with an active construction environment, including standing, bending, squatting, walking uneven terrain, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
· English/Spanish bilingual ability is a plus, but not required.
· High school diploma/GED preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
