A truck and equipment shop parts coordinator manages inventory, orders replacement components, and supplies technicians with the materials needed to repair commercial vehicles efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Control: Track stock levels, conduct bin checks, perform cycle counts, and prevent stock-outs or obsolete inventory.
Procurement: Order parts, tools, and shop supplies from approved vendors and manage backorders
Receiving and Kitting: Inspect incoming shipments against packing slips, tag items, and stage or "kit" parts for scheduled repair and production jobs
Technician & Customer Support: Issue parts to internal mechanics, look up replacement part numbers using dealer software, and handle counter sales or core returns
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience: High school diploma plus 1 to 2 years of experience in a heavy-duty truck, automotive, or industrial parts environment.
Technical Literacy: Ability to use dealer management systems, inventory databases, and electronic parts catalogs.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate shop equipment like a forklift.
