Job Overview:
The Purchasing & Pricing Specialist is responsible for managing both supplier - purchasing activities and customer sales pricing within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This position negotiates purchased part pricing with suppliers while also developing and negotiating customer sales pricing with customers. The successful candidate serves as the primary commercial liaison between suppliers, customers, and internal departments to support cost management, profitability, and uninterrupted production. This role requires strong negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to build long-term business relationships.
This position combines purchasing, pricing, and customer account management. Unlike a traditional purchasing role or sales role focused primarily on issuing purchase orders, this position is responsible for negotiating supplier pricing, establishing customer sales pricing with TMNA, and supporting the financial success of the business through strategic commercial decisions.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Negotiate purchased part pricing with suppliers to achieve annual cost reduction and profitability objectives.
- Develop and negotiate customer sales pricing with our customers while supporting long-term business relationships.
- Analyze material cost changes and prepare pricing proposals and quotations.
- Monitor customer pricing, supplier pricing, and margin performance to support company profitability.
- Coordinate engineering changes, material cost increases, and customer pricing updates.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Accounting, Quality and Logistics to support new model launches and production requirements.
- Resolve pricing discrepancies and commercial issues with suppliers and customers
- Maintain accurate pricing records and documentation within the ERP system.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier negotiations and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze supplier quotes, material costs, and market trends to develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Identify and implement cost-savings opportunities
Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing, sales, or supply chain (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, pricing strategies, and supplier management
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
- Proficiency is Excel, Outlook and ERP systems (preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated understanding or ability to learn APMM Purchasing and Sales systems to support daily operations.
- Knowledge of APMM policies and procedures, with the ability to apply them in a consistent and complaint manner.
- Understanding of Toyota Problem Solving methodology or equivalent structured problem-solving approach
