Overview
Join our dynamic hospitality team as a Part-Time Hotel Maintenance Technician! In this vital role, you will be the go-to expert for maintaining and repairing our hotel’s facilities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and inviting environment for our guests and staff. Your hands-on skills and proactive approach will help keep our property in top condition, supporting smooth daily operations and enhancing guest satisfaction. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems including HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning), electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and facilities equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues using schematics, electrical tools, and testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct carpentry work, painting, welding, and other handyman tasks to maintain the interior and exterior of the hotel.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely to carry out repairs or installations efficiently.
- Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory of maintenance supplies.
- Supervise or assist with projects involving mechanical knowledge or facilities upgrades while ensuring safety standards are met.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or guests, providing excellent customer service and clear communication throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate schematics and technical documentation for building systems to facilitate ongoing repairs and upgrades.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, repair operations (MRO), or related fields within hospitality or manufacturing environments.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to perform electrical work safely and efficiently; familiarity with electrical equipment repair is essential.
- Mechanical knowledge covering plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system troubleshooting, carpentry, welding, painting, and general building interior upkeep.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for troubleshooting automated systems.
- Ability to read technical schematics and mechanical drawings accurately.
- Excellent communication skills in English to coordinate with team members and assist guests effectively.
- Supervising experience is preferred for leadership opportunities within the maintenance team.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for work order management is advantageous.
