Position Summary
The Director of Patient Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall management, growth, and quality of hospice services across Community Hospice and two (2) Inpatient Units. This position plays a critical role in strategic planning, program expansion, fiscal oversight, regulatory compliance, and organizational development in alignment with the mission of Good Shepherd Hospice and Catholic Health.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop and implement hospice-specific strategic initiatives to support program growth and service expansion

Provide leadership, supervision, and coordination of all clinical and operational activities related to the delivery of high-quality hospice care within the designated service area

Drive census growth through strategic initiatives in the community, skilled nursing facilities, and inpatient settings

Collaborate with the President and Director of Finance to ensure fiscal responsibility, financial stability, and sustainable growth of the hospice program

Partner with the President of Good Shepherd Hospice in organizational planning, priority setting, and the identification, development, and evaluation of short- and long-term goals

Ensure compliance with Medicare Conditions of Participation and all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards

Promote continuous quality improvement, patient safety, and excellence in end-of-life care
Minimum Requirements

Current and valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred

Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare management and/or supervisory experience

Prior experience as a Nurse Manager in an acute care setting

Minimum of three (3) years of bedside nursing experience in acute care

Demonstrated knowledge of hospice philosophy, Medicare Conditions of Participation, and hospice policies and procedures

Ability to assess the needs of terminally ill patients and their families, including planning and oversight of symptom management

Strong proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Posted Salary Range: USD $160,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr. :
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
