Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and serving meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, ovens, and other culinary tools
- Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety standards are met at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Support menu planning by helping with ingredient selection and portioning for daily meals
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service
- Adhere strictly to food safety management protocols and safety standards during all food production activities
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary or food service environments, including dietary aide or restaurant experience
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures
- Proficiency in food preparation techniques, including slicing, chopping, cooking, and plating meals
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with kitchen staff and team members
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal presentation standards
- Experience with catering or large-scale food production is a plus
- Demonstrated knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production environments and proper cleaning protocols
- Culinary experience that emphasizes food industry best practices and customer service excellence
