We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead and oversee clinical and medical services within our Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) Substance Use Disorder Clinic. As our Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing addiction treatment services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting best practices in addiction medicine.
In addition, you will:
- Provide strategic leadership for the medical aspects of addiction services.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement policies and programs to enhance addiction treatment and recovery.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and addiction specialists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including OASAS standards.
- Oversee clinical staff, providing guidance on best practices in addiction medicine.
- Lead quality assurance and improvement initiatives within addiction services.
- Develop and oversee training programs for staff on addiction treatment best practices.
- Prescribe to clients and maintain a caseload.
- Attend all High-Risk Meetings within the SUD Clinic.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation, meeting quality and compliance standards.
- Foster partnerships with healthcare organizations and community stakeholders.
- Stay informed on the latest developments in addiction medicine and integrate findings into practice.
We require:
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Addiction Medicine
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in Addiction Medicine
- Valid NYS Driver’s License
- Strong understanding of substance use disorder treatment and addiction medicine
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to ethical practices and high-quality patient care
- Current within CMS, Medicaid, and Medicare systems to prescribe
This role is performed in-person, with some travel required.
