Job Summary
The Investment Operations Specialist supports the processing and administration of public and private market investment transactions on behalf of client-facing advisory teams. This role serves as a primary point of contact for alternative investment operational matters, including subscriptions, contributions, distributions, and redemptions across a range of fund structures. The Specialist works cross-functionally with client teams, custodians, fund companies, and internal departments to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely execution of investment transactions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Process public and private market investment transactions for client teams, including Alternative Investment (AI) subscriptions, contributions, distributions, redemptions, and transfers.
- Work with Technology Department & Custodian team to ensure the processes for AI’s at each custodian are up to date.
- Assist in the implementation of processing new fund offerings for the client teams.
- Review fund documentation for accuracy and completeness prior to submission. Facilitate review of items needing clarification with client teams.
- Act as the liaison between client teams and fund companies to ensure timely communication on open issues, inquiries, and tax reporting.
- Assist with fund reconciliation following closes and capital calls.
- Communicate with custodians as needed regarding processing of AI paperwork.
- Ensure all investment transactions adhere to internal mandates, SEC regulations, and AML/KYC requirements.
- Modifies and documents internal business processes as needed.
- Additional assignments, as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience in investment operations, financial services, or a related back-office function
- Familiarity with alternative investment products (hedge funds, private equity, real assets, or similar) preferred
- Working knowledge of AML/KYC requirements and SEC regulatory standards preferred
- Experience with custodian platforms and alternative investment subscription/documentation processes preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with Salesforce CRM preferred
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
