POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of nursing care directly or indirectly for individual residents. The Registered Nurse maintains the quality of resident care through an ongoing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and the supervision of nursing team members. The staff RN assumes responsibility for specific functions as delegated by the Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Continuously evaluating the quality of nursing care provided by the Nursing Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurse, and utilizing the results to make recommendations for staffing and/ or the implementation of new approaches to the resident's care.
Planning and providing the resident/ family with education on disease process, disease prevention, Nutritional needs, medications, and other programs and treatment practices specific to achieve the independence and control of her/ his life and care needs/
9. Identifies those components of the nursing regimen, which may be delegated to allied nursing personnel and provides teaching and guidance necessary by:
Cooperating and sharing responsibility with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
Directing, supervising, assisting, and teaching non-professional personnel in giving resident care.
10. Participates in maintaining standards of nursing practice by:
Knowing and applying scientific principles in performing nursing procedures.
Applying knowledge of drugs, diagnostic tests, and other therapeutic modalities based on
established principles and precautions.
