Photographer & Videographer – Summit Media Group
Summit Media Group is a real estate media company specializing in high-quality photo and video content for residential and commercial properties across the Metro Detroit area. We partner with real estate agents, brokers, builders, and developers to make their listings stand out — and we're growing our team.
The Role
We're looking for a versatile Photographer & Videographer to join Summit Media Group. This is a dual role — you'll be doing both, often on the same shoot. Day to day that means shooting residential listings, commercial properties, new construction, and architectural projects, as well as capturing property walkthrough videos, cinematic listing reels, and aerial footage. If you can show up to a property, handle everything from stills to video, and deliver polished content, this role was built for you.
What We're Looking For
You're equally comfortable with a camera in photo or video mode. You know how to shoot clean, professional interiors and exteriors, work with natural and artificial light, and make a space look its absolute best. On the video side, you understand movement, pacing, and how to put together a compelling property reel that actually helps sell a home. A background in real estate, residential, architectural, or commercial photo and video is strongly preferred, though candidates with strong experience in other areas are encouraged to apply. We'll train you on our workflow and style, but you need a solid foundation to build on. Beginners will not be considered.
We're also looking for someone willing to obtain their FAA Part 107 drone license — aerial photo and video is a core part of what we deliver to clients, and we'll fully support you through the certification process.
Requirements
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience in both photography and videography with a portfolio and reel to back it up (required with application — no portfolio, no consideration)
- Ability to shoot clean, professional interiors and exteriors for both photo and video
- Proficiency in video editing software (Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar)
- Willing to obtain FAA Part 107 drone license (we will assist with the process)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional — our clients are agents and developers on tight timelines
- Able to work independently and manage multiple shoots per day when needed
Nice to Have
- Prior real estate, architectural, or commercial photo and video experience
- Existing drone experience or FAA Part 107 certification
- Proficiency in Lightroom, Photoshop, or similar editing software
- Familiarity with HDR and flash/strobe techniques for interior photography
- Experience with gimbal operation, slider work, or other cinematic techniques
- Familiarity with color grading and audio mixing
- Experience working directly with real estate agents, builders, or property managers
