Join our dynamic team as a Restaurant Cashier, where you'll be the friendly face greeting guests and ensuring smooth, efficient transactions. This vital role combines excellent customer service with precise cash handling and POS (Point of Sale) system operation. As a cashier, you'll play a key part in creating a welcoming environment, managing food service customer orders, and maintaining a clean workspace. Your energetic approach will help deliver a fast-paced, enjoyable dining experience for every guest.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their food orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions and food orders seamlessly.
- Handle cash register operations, including processing cash, credit/debit card payments, and giving correct change.
- Upsell menu items and suggestive selling to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness of the cashier station and surrounding workspace, adhering to sanitation standards.
- Support food preparation tasks when needed, including basic food handling and assisting in the kitchen or café areas.
- Manage food service customer order management to ensure timely delivery of orders to guests.
- Assist with bussing tables and sanitation duties to uphold hygiene standards throughout the restaurant.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely when required, supporting overall food industry operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with an energetic, positive attitude.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus.
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions accurately and managing retail math calculations.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety management, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with food preparation or culinary tasks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Previous retail sales or grocery store experience can be beneficial for understanding sales transactions and customer interactions.
