Responsibilities
- Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos when needed.
- Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and assist with merchandising efforts to keep the store inviting and well-presented.
- Maintain phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers over the phone, ensuring clear communication.
- Support inventory management through stocking and product demos, helping customers find what they need quickly and confidently.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure a seamless shopping experience, including supervising new team members if applicable.
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail environment.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Demonstrated cashiering skills including basic math for handling transactions accurately.
- Experience in supervising or mentoring team members is advantageous.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and retail math principles.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to perform stocking duties efficiently while maintaining attention to detail during retail sales transactions.
