Position Overview
Recreation Group Leaders support multiple individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) in site-based and/or community-based settings.
Integrate individuals into the community and actively participate in community-based activities.
Provide adequate supervision for all individuals at all times while in the community.
Support individuals with:
Create opportunities for recreational and enrichment activities such as:
Games
Sports
Arts and crafts
Swimming
Exercise
Music
Provide personal care as needed, including:
Assistance with meals
Toileting support
Feeding assistance
Organize and facilitate groups of up to at least five individuals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Interact with others in a positive, professional, and respectful manner.
Build relationships across all levels of the agency to enhance communication and collaboration.
Communicate clearly and effectively in both oral and written forms.
Listen actively and use feedback to improve performance.
Present information clearly in individual and group settings.
Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines.
Adapt to changing priorities.
Balance multiple tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Conduct all business relationships in accordance with agency guidelines.
Arrive on time and adhere to assigned schedules and program routines.
Meet agency attendance expectations.
Attend all required meetings and trainings promptly.
Demonstrate independence in thinking, planning, and problem solving.
Take proactive steps to improve work performance and program quality.
Bachelor’s degree required.
At least two years of direct experience working with adults with ID/DD.
Successful completion and maintenance of the following trainings:
Working knowledge of behavior modification techniques.
Willingness to authorize a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check.
Willingness to release information regarding any allegations or investigations from the following agencies:
