TACI is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to perform diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repairs, and inspections on our fleet of commercial trucks, trailers, and construction equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring our vehicles remain safe, reliable, and compliant with all DOT and company standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, particularly Ford commercial trucks, along with knowledge of hydraulic systems, brake systems, electrical repairs, and preventative maintenance programs.

Minimum 1–3 years of diesel mechanic or commercial truck repair experience

Experience diagnosing and repairing Ford commercial diesel trucks

Strong diesel engine mechanical knowledge

Experience repairing brake systems, hydraulic systems, lighting, and electrical components

Ability to perform preventative maintenance and fleet inspections

Basic knowledge of DOT and BIT compliance requirements

Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification
-
Experience maintaining construction equipment and utility vehicles

Experience with hydraulic equipment and aerial lift systems

Welding or fabrication experience

Bilingual English and Spanish

Diagnose and repair diesel engines, with emphasis on Ford commercial trucks

Perform preventative maintenance on commercial trucks, trailers, and fleet vehicles

Troubleshoot engine, electrical, hydraulic, lighting, and brake system issues
-
Repair and replace worn or damaged components to minimize equipment downtime
-
Perform inspections to identify mechanical issues before failures occur

Complete scheduled maintenance services according to manufacturer recommendations

Coordinate movement of trucks, trailers, and equipment between job sites, vendors, and repair facilities

Assist with sourcing replacement equipment or coordinating third-party repairs when necessary

Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair histories, and service documentation

Ensure work orders are completed accurately and on schedule

Support emergency equipment repairs to minimize operational downtime

Follow all company safety policies and shop safety procedures

Maintain compliance with DOT, BIT, and fleet maintenance regulations

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards

Properly maintain tools, shop equipment, and diagnostic equipment

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and quality workmanship

Fleet vehicles remain safe, reliable, and available for field operations

Repairs are completed accurately and efficiently

Preventative maintenance schedules are consistently maintained

Work orders and maintenance records are completed accurately

Minimal equipment downtime and high fleet reliability

Strong teamwork and communication with operations and field personnel

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance

Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crawl, and work underneath vehicles for extended periods

Ability to climb ladders up to 12 feet

Ability to safely operate shop tools, lifts, and diagnostic equipment

Ability to work overtime, weekends, or emergency repair assignments when required

Ability to work in varying shop and outdoor weather conditions
