Novanex, Inc has relocated its electronics assembly business from Charlottesville to Henrico, Virginia and is hiring full and/or part-time electronics assemblers to work in our Lakeside location. Remote work is not available for this position.
Our facility is located off Staples Mill Road between Dumbarton and Hillard roads. There is a GRTC bus stop within 2 blocks of our facility. Our hours are from 8 am – 4pm weekdays. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate personal needs (daycare pickups, etc.).

General Job Description
You will assemble electronic clocks and displays and assist with packing and shipping our products.
Core Responsibilities– Assembly
· Work with electronic components supplied by our purchasing team — no supply chain or procurement responsibilities
· Inspect incoming components for obvious defects or damage prior to assembly
· Install PCBs, LED arrays, clock faces, clock hands, wiring and enclosures per product build instructions
· Verify proper operation before releasing to shipping
· Identify and report any assembly defects, component issues, or procedure discrepancies to the supervisor
· Maintain a clean and organized assembly workstation
· Accurately track production counts and complete any required assembly logs or work orders
· Cross-train on multiple product lines (digital clocks, analog clocks, LED signs) as production needs require
· Perform light assembly or kitting tasks as needed to support production
Core Responsibilities – Shipping
· Assemble corrugated boxes for shipping
· Pack finished products securely using appropriate materials to ensure safe delivery
· Select appropriate shipping method and carrier based on order requirements
· Print and apply shipping labels; verify all package weights, dimensions, and destination information before dispatch
· Inspect outgoing orders for accuracy against packing slips or work orders before sealing
· Process and ship customer orders accurately and on time using UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager software
· Maintain an organized, clean shipping area and adequate stock of packing supplies
· Communicate with team members or supervisors regarding order status, backorders, or shipping issues
Other duties as assigned
Physical Demands and Work Environment
You will be expected to understand written procedures and will be responsible for final quality inspections. An attention to detail and good visual skills are needed to detect any flaws in materials or assembly prior to shipping our product to customers.
The position requires manual dexterity, some hand strength, an ability to operate a handheld battery-operated screwdriver, tape machine and utility knife. You should have basic computer skills.
