Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist (Home Health PRN) to provide exceptional speech-language pathology services in a home health setting. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for patients across various age groups, including pediatrics.
- Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, focusing on speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Implement therapy sessions in patients' homes, utilizing evidence-based techniques to improve communication skills.
- Monitor patient progress regularly and adjust treatment strategies accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about speech therapy exercises, strategies, and techniques to support ongoing improvement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care to ensure comprehensive support.
- Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices, particularly in early intervention and pediatric care.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Experience working with pediatric populations is highly preferred, especially in early intervention or school settings.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology related to speech and swallowing disorders.
- Proven ability to perform thorough patient assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
- Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach toward children and families.
- Familiarity with pediatric development milestones and early intervention strategies is desirable.
- Ability to work independently in a home health environment while maintaining professional standards.
- Prior experience with patient documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations is advantageous.
