The Automotive Service Technician services and repairs vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. JOB DESCRIPTION:
· As an Automotive Service Technician for California Auto Centers, you will be a Valued team member working with a family (who laughs, cries and plays together!), performing repair services on Guest vehicles. More importantly, you will be part of a family working together to deliver 5 Star Guest experiences, while using your Technician skills to take care of people, their cars and ensure our guests have safe, reliable transportation.
· The hourly range for this role is $25 - $45 per hour guaranteed based on experience, billable hours and ASE Certifications.
· This role is eligible for additional compensation and incentives. Pay will be based on experience level, billable hours and ASE certifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively and accurately perform quality repair work in accordance with manufacture and factory standards.
- Performs Quality Service Inspections on every vehicle.
- Tests and completes maintenance jobs thoroughly.
- Road test vehicle to ensure quality repair work was completed.
- Checks all fluids and maintenance-related parts and tops-off or replaces fluids or filters/parts as required.
- Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs.
- Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards.
- Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules.
- Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions.
- Attends all lunch meetings (meal included), trainings, and educational classes as required.
- Complete system diagnostics and full automotive troubleshooting and testing.
- Maintain an organized and neat shop area.
- Communicate directly with service advisors regarding the status of the service work as well as the estimated time for completion so that customers can be informed.
- Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay informed with rapidly changing automotive technology.
- Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company's Values in all interactions with customers, coworkers and vendors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience Required as a Service Technician.
- Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles.
- National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification (s) or certification (s) in different specialized areas such as: brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and teammates.
- Safety and customer service oriented.
- Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Self-motivated with solid work habits.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Job Type: Part time and Full-time positions available: M-F 8-5pm, No Weekends!
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour, based on qualifications and ASE Certifications

Minimum Qualifications
- High school or GED equivalent, or other automotive repair experience
- 2+ years of automotive technician experience
- Valid Driver License
- Own a basic set of automotive tools or participate in tool purchase program.
- Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for long periods and lift 50 lbs.
- Guest and team focused mindset
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE automotive certification in at least three of A1-A8
- Automotive Technician State Inspector License
- Automotive technical school certificate/degree
