Primary Job Responsibilities at kmr
- Actively participate in all field research operations including planting, harvest, in-season data collection, spraying, etc in field locations in Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota
- Actively participate in farm and production activities, such as planting, weed control, detasseling, harvest in local fields
- Assist with equipment evaluation, technology use, maintenance, repair and fabrication
- Facility maintenance and repair including snow removal, weed control & structural repairs
- Seed handling and delivery
- Managing crop inputs, including production plan, marketing, purchasing, etc
- Assist with facility design, upgrades and project implemenation
- Other duties may be assigned to match successful applicants interests and skills
Requirements for kmr Agronomy Field Operations
- Degree in agronomy or related program
- Class A CDL with airbrake and tanker endorsement
- Minimum three years crop production experience with practical independent agronomy decision making
- Ability to travel and work seasonal long hours (no Sundays)
- Iowa Pesticide Applicator's license or ability to obtain
- Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs, walk through fields mount and operate farm equipment
