National/Alamo and Enterprise Rent A Car is looking for a fleet agent to join our fleet team. We are seeking applicants with reliable Sunday availability.
Position Summary
The Fleet Agent is responsible for transporting, staging, securing, and maintaining the readiness of rental vehicles throughout the company's operations. This role requires strong driving skills, situational awareness, attention to detail, and clear communication, with the ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport vehicles between rental locations, maintenance facilities, vendors, military installations, airports, ports, and other designated locations.
- Monitor assigned vehicles through the repair process and ensure vehicles are returned to service promptly.
- Stage and reposition vehicles to support daily operations, reservations, and group rentals.
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report damage, maintenance concerns, or operational issues.
- Maintain accurate records regarding vehicle locations and status using company software.
- Safeguard vehicle keys, equipment, documents, and other company assets.
- Follow company procedures for vehicle security, key control, and asset accountability.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments regarding vehicle status, delays, and operational needs.
- Assist the Service Department with vehicle cleanliness, inspections, and customer service as needed.
- Assist with moving equipment, inventory counts, audits, and other operational projects.
- Support disaster preparation, response, and recovery efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. A differential will be added for holders of Class B or Class G licenses.
- Strong driving skills and ability to safely operate vehicles in varying road and weather conditions, including heavy rain.
- Ability to safely maneuver and park vehicles in confined spaces.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to military installations.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company software.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and operational conditions.
- Dependable and accountable when handling company vehicles, keys, equipment, and other assets.
Schedule Requirements
- Primarily scheduled for morning shifts with 32-40 hours per week.
- Must be available to start as early as 6:00 a.m. and work as late as 7:00 p.m. when operational needs require.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent driving, walking, standing, bending, lifting, and reaching.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
