Pay Rate: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Reports To: General Manager / Food Service Director
Position Summary
The Operations Cafe Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for supporting daily cafe operations while ensuring high standards in food quality, service, staffing, and financial performance. This role requires flexibility to support multiple operational needs including kitchen production, catering, staffing, and customer service.
Required Experience/Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of food service, cafe, restaurant, or hospitality supervisory or management experience
- Strong cooking and food production experience with the ability to actively work in the kitchen when needed
- Experience overseeing catering operations including planning, preparation, setup, and execution
- Proven employee management skills including coaching, scheduling, accountability, performance management, and team development
- Hiring experience including interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees
- Understanding of financial performance including sales tracking, labor management, food cost control, waste reduction, and profitability
- Experience managing operational budgets and controlling expenses
- Experience with product ordering, inventory management, receiving deliveries, and maintaining proper stock levels
- Ability to support marketing initiatives, promotions, special events, and programs that increase cafe traffic and sales
- Schedule: Monday through Friday with occasional every other weekend shifts as required by operations or special events
- ServSafe Certification required
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and service standards
- Ability to support multiple areas of operations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-volume cafe or food service operations
- Experience with POS systems, operational reporting, and compliance standards
- Catering or large-scale food production experience
- Strong customer service and guest relations background
