Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, or other freight to various job sites and disposal locations. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to navigate diverse routes will ensure efficient deliveries and pickups. Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks and tractor-trailers with precision, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Load and unload materials using truck-mounted equipment or manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit
- Navigate over the road (OTR) driving routes utilizing GPS navigation systems for timely deliveries
- Transport freight such as construction debris, hazardous materials (hazmat), or other specialized cargo including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with safety standards
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns before and after each shift
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and route adjustments
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including dump trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods
- Skilled in route planning using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery routes across diverse terrains
- Ability to load and unload freight safely using forklift equipment or manual handling techniques
- Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures and truck loading/unloading processes
- Strong understanding of manual transmission operation and vehicle maintenance checks
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience in delivery driving preferred
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety standards while managing hazardous materials or specialized freight such as refrigerated trailers or tanker loads
CDL A or CDL B License required
