Duties
- Operate laundry machines such as washers, dryers, and specialty equipment to process linens, towels, uniforms, and guest clothing.
- Sort laundry items based on color, fabric type, and cleaning requirements to ensure optimal care.
- Perform dry cleaning procedures for delicate or specialized garments using appropriate solvents and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of laundry areas by regularly cleaning machines, work surfaces, and storage spaces.
- Follow safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating machinery to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with inventory management by tracking supplies of detergents, cleaning agents, and linen stock levels.
- Support other housekeeping tasks as needed to uphold the hotel’s cleanliness standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in laundry operations or cleaning services is preferred; hotel experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of various laundry techniques including washing, drying, folding, and dry cleaning processes.
- Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on quality control to ensure all items meet cleanliness standards.
- Ability to operate laundry machinery safely and efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple loads of laundry simultaneously.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report any equipment issues promptly.
