Team Member (Focus: Floor Associate)
Responsibilities

- Provide friendly, knowledgeable, and solution-oriented service to all team members, customers, and vendors.
- Greet and assist customers in a positive, approachable manner. Answer questions and resolve customer concerns. Advise customers on solutions to projects and problems with add on sales when appropriate.
- Treat all team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.
- Communicate effectively; Keep radio traffic to a minimum; answer the phone.
- Ensure incoming product is properly stocked and organized in its designated locations on truck days, with a primary focus on your assigned department.
- Actively cross-train in departments and areas of the store, demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning.
- Perform any necessary customer service tasks including but not limited to; cutting keys, filling propane, running register, assisting with loading products, answering inquiries, etc.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-merchandised assigned department, including re-stickering, fronting, dusting, sweeping, and general cleaning. Assist in other departments as needed, while always keeping customer service as the top priority.
- Keep the entire sales floor clean and presentable.
- Assist in the process of unloading freight and stocking shelves.
- Store maintenance as needed including but not limited to; cleaning common areas, trash removal, parking lot and sidewalk sweeping.
- Ensure no items are left on the ground on the sales floor. Prevent trip hazards.
- Ensure you have a login for Netwarehouse and DIB Online and understand the ordering process.
- Be able to navigate www.burneyhardware.com; be able to instruct customers how to find, buy and rent items through our website.
- Maintain situational awareness regarding loss prevention. Immediately notify your supervisor of suspicious activity.
- Ensure a safe working environment. Follow proper lifting, equipment and PPE guidelines. Maintain situational awareness. Identify and report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Clock in no later than your scheduled start time and no more than 5 minutes prior to without management approval. Clock out no earlier than your scheduled end time and no later than 5 minutes past without management approval.
- Uphold personal appearance standards per company policy.
- Follow all guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
