MSB Disaster Recovery Services is a well-established restoration and general contractor serving residential and commercial clients throughout Greater Los Angeles and Ventura County. We specialize in rebuilding properties after water, fire, mold, and other property damage, remodels and helping clients navigate challenging situations with professionalism, urgency, and expertise.
We're looking for someone who understands construction—but more importantly, someone who enjoys working with people.
This is NOT a Project Manager or Superintendent position.
We're seeking an experienced estimator who is confident meeting with clients, developing accurate scopes of work, preparing estimates, presenting proposals, and earning the client's trust to secure signed contracts. Once the project is awarded, you'll partner with our production team to ensure a smooth handoff so they can focus on delivering an exceptional finished product.

What You'll Do
No two days are the same.
One day you might be meeting with a homeowner after a water loss, preparing a reconstruction estimate to restore their home. The next, you could be consulting with a client on a kitchen or bathroom remodel, or walking a commercial property to develop a proposal following fire or water damage. Every project is different, giving you the opportunity to work on both insurance reconstruction and direct-pay remodeling projects.
You'll evaluate the damage, develop an accurate reconstruction scope, prepare a detailed estimate, explain your recommendations, answer questions, and guide the client through the contracting process. Your ability to build confidence and trust is just as important as your estimating skills.
Responsibilities
- Meet with homeowners, commercial property owners, property managers, and insurance adjusters
- Conduct site inspections and job walks
- Develop detailed scopes of work for residential and commercial reconstruction projects
- Prepare accurate project estimates and budgets
- Present proposals and explain pricing with confidence
- Build strong client relationships and earn signed contracts
- Coordinate with our Senior Estimator and Production Team to ensure a seamless project handoff
- Maintain organized documentation throughout the pre-construction process
- Represent MSB with professionalism and integrity in every client interaction

What We're Looking For (Required)
- 5+ years of experience estimating residential and/or commercial construction projects
- Working knowledge of Xactimate estimating software with the ability to create and manage accurate estimates
- Experience preparing estimates for remodeling, reconstruction, renovation, or insurance repair projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously
Preferred
- Restoration or insurance reconstruction experience
- Experience estimating fire, water, mold, or other property damage repairs
- Experience working directly with homeowners, commercial property owners, and insurance adjusters
- Experience with insurance claims and coverages
- Existing industry relationships or referral network

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
