Worden is a 75-year-old wood furniture manufacturer. Under its new leadership, Worden has seen sizable growth in the last year and aspires to continue their growth trajectory in both the short and long term.
Worden designs and produces wood furniture for libraries, learning, working, and living spaces. Specialties include veneer, laminate, and solid wood standard products combined with custom products, and hand-applied finishes.
And in recent months, Worden has also acquired another company that's focused on upholstery and assembly capabilities.
Position Summary
We’re searching for a detailed, organized individual with experience in small-business accounting. We're looking for an individual to manage accounts payables, receivables, cash flow, bank/credit card reconciliations, monthly close responsibilities, forecasting, and more.
This role is in-person, full-time, from 8am to 5pm M-F, and will report to the Controller.
As we grow in revenue, there will likely be opportunity to move up within the Finance team. If you have some experience and are a hard worker looking to grow in your career, this is the place for you.
Accountabilities
- Gather receivers from the plant and match them with incoming invoices. Enter the detail into the system for future payables.
- Pull accounts payables from the system each week and schedule payments. Set up ACH payments and print out checks to send to vendors. And, send remittances to vendors so they’re clear on what payments are coming and why.
- Process and post invoicing, and send to customers for payment. Enter ACH and check payments as they come in. Track accounts for overdue payments and make the Controller aware of any outstanding balances.
- Track historical and future cash flows based on payables and receivables. Ensure the company is staying on track with short term and long term cash and investment goals.
- Reconcile our financial system with the bank at least once a week.
- Set up the monthly general ledger trial balance file and update account balances each week. Use balances and leadership input to forecast income statement results for current and future months.
Requirements
- Prefer 1+ years of experience in accounts payables or receivables.
- Prefer a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- Proficient in MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in record-keeping and forecasting.
- Knowledge of how a manufacturing company operates and how financial duties play a part in the greater scope of business.
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
