Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Building and Grounds Keeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our school and grounds. This vital role involves performing a variety of custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks to ensure a welcoming and well-maintained environment for staff, visitors, and children. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding high standards of cleanliness and safety across all areas of the property.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to maintain a pristine environment.
- Conduct commercial and residential cleaning tasks using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
- Carry out custodial responsibilities such as window washing, carpet cleaning, and light janitorial tasks across various facility areas.
- Assist with groundskeeping activities including lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, and debris cleanup to keep outdoor spaces tidy and safe.
- Support facilities maintenance by performing minor repairs, painting walls or fences as needed, and reporting larger issues for prompt resolution.
- Operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers or industrial vacuums efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings with a strong understanding of cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods and facilities maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform light repairs or painting tasks such as touch-ups or minor drywall work.
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies along with proper safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to prioritize daily tasks effectively.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, bend, kneel, and perform outdoor groundskeeping activities as required.
