Job Summary
Outpatient Imaging Center in Bluefield VA is in need of an experienced, certified part-time/full time MRI technologist to work afternoon/evenings and some weekend hours. The MRI Technologist performs high-quality diagnostic MRI procedures while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and adherence to established imaging protocols. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work independently while collaborating with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare staff.
Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI procedures according to physician orders and established protocols
- Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications prior to scanning
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures
- Administer contrast agents as required and monitor patient responses
- Evaluate images for technical quality and submit images to PACS for interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards and infection control practices
- Maintain MRI equipment, coils, and exam rooms in a safe and clean condition
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
- ARRT (MR) or ARMRIT certification required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year MRI experience preferred
- Experience with PACS and EMR systems
- Strong patient care and communication skills
