About Us Dai Phat Supermarket is a Vietnamese-American grocery store serving the local community with fresh produce, seafood, and specialty products. We're expanding our team and looking for hardworking, reliable people who take pride in keeping our store fresh, clean, and well-stocked.
About the Role We're hiring a Produce Clerk to keep our produce department looking its best and running smoothly. You'll be hands-on with prepping, stocking, and maintaining the quality and presentation of our fruits and vegetables all day long.
What You'll Do
- Trim and remove dead or wilted leaves from leafy greens to keep displays fresh
- Inspect produce regularly and remove spoiled or damaged items from shelves and displays
- Wash, sort, and prep fruits and vegetables for sale
- Pack produce into single-sell bags, containers, and packages
- Stock and rotate shelves and displays, following first-in-first-out practices
- Build and maintain attractive, well-organized produce displays
- Keep the produce area, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized
- Assist customers with questions or help locating items
- Help unload and break down produce deliveries as needed
- Follow all food safety and store cleanliness standards
What We're Looking For
- Previous grocery, produce, or food service experience preferred (not required)
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40–50 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Attention to detail — able to spot quality issues quickly
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to speak multiple languages such as Vietnamese, Chinese, and Spanish a plus, not required
