Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Medical Assistant - Front Desk to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong medical administrative skills, excellent patient service capabilities, and a solid understanding of medical office operations. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, manage administrative tasks, and support clinical staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while managing the clinic’s calendar to optimize patient flow.
- Maintain accurate and organized medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Collect patient vital signs, medical histories, and assist with basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy and medication administration when necessary.
- Handle incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist with documentation of medical encounters, ICD coding, and other necessary medical documentation for billing purposes.
- Support clinical staff with inventory management of medical supplies and ensure the cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
Requirements
- MUST be Bilingual - English and Spanish
- Prior experience in a medical office setting, preferably within dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care environments.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, medical terminology, and medical records management.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as Phlebotomy or Medical Assisting are a plus.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and ICD coding practices.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Familiarity with hospital experience or inpatient procedures is advantageous; experience with Level I or Level II trauma centers is desirable.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
