About Desra Group
Desra Group is a Central Florida-based government services company supporting government and industry partners with cybersecurity, information technology, compliance, professional services, and workforce solutions. We are growing our presence across the federal contracting, defense, technology, and business communities.
Position Summary
Desra Group is seeking a part-time Business Development & Partnerships Coordinator to help identify opportunities, strengthen strategic relationships, and maintain a disciplined business-development pipeline. This role is ideal for a professional who brings strong communication and follow-through, relevant business-development experience, and familiarity with the Central Florida government-contracting, defense, or technology community.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience building professional relationships with prime contractors, potential teaming partners, government-industry professionals, or business leaders. An existing, relevant professional network in the Central Florida market is strongly preferred.
This is a hybrid position that combines flexible remote work with occasional in-office support and in-person meetings and events in the Orlando area. Candidates located near the UCF / Research Park area are preferred because the role includes periodic local meetings and industry activities.
Responsibilities
- Research federal agencies, prime contractors, potential teaming partners, and relevant market opportunities.
- Identify subcontracting, partnership, and business-development opportunities.
- Conduct professional, company-approved outreach to prospective partners and clients.
- Build and maintain relationships within the government-contracting, defense, technology, and business communities.
- Coordinate introductions and meetings for company leadership.
- Attend select networking events, meetings, and industry activities in the Orlando area.
- Follow up promptly after meetings, conferences, and events.
- Maintain accurate CRM records for contacts, opportunities, meetings, and next steps.
- Support distribution of approved capability materials and other business-development initiatives.
- Provide limited in-office administrative and business-development support as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional, personable, and comfortable engaging with executives, government-industry professionals, and business leaders.
- Highly organized, dependable, proactive, and able to manage follow-up independently.
- Comfortable with LinkedIn, email outreach, online research, spreadsheets, and CRM systems.
- Ability to represent Desra Group professionally and use sound judgment in external interactions.
- Ability to periodically attend in-person meetings and events in the Orlando area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in business development, partnerships, account management, government contracting, professional services, defense, cybersecurity, technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with prime contractors, government-industry professionals, prospective teaming partners, or business leaders.
- An established professional network or meaningful familiarity with the Central Florida government, defense, technology, or federal-contracting community.
- Knowledge of federal contracting, subcontracting, teaming, or small-business programs is a plus.
- Candidates with strong transferable relationship-building experience are encouraged to apply. While prior government-contracting experience is preferred, it is not required for the right candidate.
Job Details
- Job type: Part-time, W-2 employee
- Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week
- Pay: $20.00 per hour
