About the Company
American Gas Safety provides high-quality HVAC sensors, gas detection equipment, and other building automation to contractors, distributors, engineers, and commercial customers. We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Engineer to help support our existing customers, develop new business, and contribute to the continued growth of our company. This is an entry level role that is designed to develop sales engineer skills to progress to an outside sales position.
Position Summary
The Inside Sales Engineer will manage customer inquiries, prepare quotes, follow up on sales opportunities, process orders, and help customers select the right products for their applications. This position requires strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
The ideal candidate is comfortable speaking with customers by phone and email, can learn technical products, and enjoys building long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly to customer inquiries by phone and email.
Prepare and follow up on quotes, proposals, and product information.
Develop relationships with contractors, distributors, engineers, facility managers, and other customers.
Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products or solutions.
Contact prospective customers and follow up on new sales leads.
Maintain regular communication with existing accounts and identify additional sales opportunities.
Enter and manage customer information, quotes, orders, and activities in the company’s CRM or business system.
Coordinate with purchasing, operations, shipping, and technical-support teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Provide customers with order-status, pricing, availability, and delivery information.
Help resolve customer concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Learn the company’s product line, applications, pricing, and competitive advantages.
Meet or exceed individual and team goals.
Qualifications
Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, account management, or a related role is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and confident telephone manner.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple requests at the same time.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, email, CRM software, and order-entry systems.
Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to take ownership of customer opportunities.
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not required:
HVAC, building automation, or controls
Gas detection or environmental monitoring
Electrical, mechanical, or industrial products
Construction or contractor sales
Distribution or manufacturer sales
Technical quoting and product selection
Technical product training will be provided to the right candidate.
