The following duties, responsibilities, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s), and physical requirements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Under general supervision from the Executive Director, Physical Plant, and direct supervision from the Associate Director, Physical Plant, the incumbent performs a wide range of facilities services repair and maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, carpentry, painting, and grounds. The incumbent may also operate light industrial equipment, grounds equipment, and drive maintenance vehicles. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES High School Diploma/High School Equivalency and two (2) years directly related full-time work experience. Part-time experience will be accepted but will be prorated and must equal two (2) years of full-time work experience.
Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License to operate Temple College vehicles between buildings at off-campus sites. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of basic building, electrical and HVAC procedures.

Knowledge of inventory and inventory control methods.

Knowledge of machinery, grounds, and related equipment.

Knowledge of greenhouse operations, propagation methods, chemical applications, insect/disease control, plant nutrition and pruning methods.

Repair equipment and ensure routine maintenance of equipment is kept up to date.

Drive College vehicles as needed.

Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Document facilities maintenance requirements; maintains appropriate records of work performed.

Perform other and miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Must be able to manipulate and use construction equipment, mechanics tools, pressure washers, or associated machinery/equipment. Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, chemicals or chemical combinations, wet/humid environment, dirt, close proximity to moving mechanical parts, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. WORK SCHEDULE:
This is an on-site position. Essential duties of the role must be performed in-person, during prescribed work hours.
