Status: Part-time
- Available on an on-call, as-needed basis with the flexibility to work unscheduled shifts, filling in for regular staff or responding to increased demand.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Drivers for Inspired Transportation are responsible for providing safe and efficient transport of individuals to and from their residence to their desired location. They will be responsible for daily pre- trip inspections of vehicles. They will ensure that all policies, procedures and safety rules are followed.
- Staff will treat all ridership with respect, value, and the utmost professional manner.
- Receive training on all vehicles in use by Inspiration Studios, Inc.
- Complete daily vehicle check to observe and damage or instance that may jeopardize the safety of the vehicle. Reporting all vehicle defects to Program Manager.
- Record all mileage, follow efficient routing schedule, and obtain signatures of riders.
- Daily fueling of vehicles and recording/logging fuel usage.
- Daily cleaning and disinfecting of vehicle and components.
- Follow and abide by all traffic and safety laws.
- Staff shall wear a seat belt and make sure all occupants wear their seat belt at all times.
- Staff shall only drive when fit to do so – never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs, including prescription and over the counter medication if they cause drowsiness.
- Staff will follow all standard operating policies and procedures as well as the company code of conduct.
- Staff will receive UI and MUI training and be expected to report all incidents to their program managers.
- Staff shall not carry any hazardous goods or weapons.
Education and/or Work Experience:
This position does not require any previous driving experience; however, an applicant should be open minded and willing to learn and train to become a professional driver.
- Previous professional driving experience a plus
- Knowledge of transportation industry and logistics
- Previous work with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Ability to work independently
- Critical thinking skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Employment Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 23 years of age and or minimum of 3 years driving.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving abstract and no more than 5 points on their record
- Must pass a chemical dependency test
- Acceptable criminal background check
- Must be able to pass a standard physical from PCP
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to be flexible in work schedule
- Receive CPR/First Aid Training
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge in:
Ohio traffic laws. Navigation and map reading. Basic interaction and customer service with clients and the community. Basic vehicle components and vehicle maintenance. Schedule/route reading and time management.

Transportation.

Communicating clearly in both written and verbal form; use of mobile device or tablet, email, GPS, and computerized training
Knowledge and ongoing training in:
Confidentiality & Individual Rights, HIPAA, Incident Reporting,
Incidents Adversely Affecting Health & Safety (MUI/UI), Ohio Abuser Registry, Prohibited Employee Harassment, Training on Board Policies and Procedures
