Old Mill Brewpub & Grill is looking for experienced kitchen help. Our linecooks work multiple roles depending on the day, including: expeditor, cooking on the line during service, dishwashing, and prep. We need cooks who can work clean, cooperatively, fast, and prepare food to the exact specifications our customers expect.
Responsibilities
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare all food and beverages in accordance with company guidelines
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work environment
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
- Maintain a positive and professional working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be able to work in a non-routine position
- Must have an thorough understanding of sanitation practices
- Must possess exceptional attention to detail
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work standing for up to 8-12 hours per day
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Required Experience:
- Proven restaurant experience, including experience as a line cook in a sit-down restaurant kitchen
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
We have openings for full time and part time positions. We always train to each station based on our company's standards and expectations, and pay full rates for training shifts. We offer competitive pay, and for fulltime BOH employees (>30hrs/wk) we offer paid vacation after one year.
