Company Overview:
Emerald Green (www.emeraldtrailers.com) is a rapidly growing vehicle & equipment rental/leasing operation for the film & entertainment industry and are looking for a skilled Fleet Mechanic to inspect, repair, assess, diagnose and maintain diesel-powered equipment, including trucks.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on buses, diesel generators and tow vehicles ensuring their optimal functionality and performance
- Track maintenance timelines and record hours/mileage when projects are completed
- Perform in the field fixes as well as maintenance of generators and vehicles currently on rent to customers
- When not working on diesel applications, assist the maintenance team with diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and hydraulic systems, identifying and resolving any issues or malfunctions
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns from clients regarding trailer functionality and technical specifications
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding diesel engines and generators with 3+ years of experience as a mechanic
- Methodical and pragmatic approach to diagnosing and repairing issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to work outside in varying weather conditions year-round
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license required
- CDL preferred but not required
- Willingness to operate a company service vehicle in and around NYC and travel as needed to location for repairs
- Willingness to take on call fixes outside of regular business hours
Location:
- Primary work location: Newark, NJ
- Secondary work location: Greenpoint, BK
- On-Set locations are generally in a 30 miles radius from Columbus Circle, NYC though further travel may be necessary
Compensation & Benefits:
- $80,000 - $100,000 per year (combining regular & OT hourly pay)
