Real Estate Legal Assistant
We are currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Legal Assistant/Closer (primarily residential Real Estate) who can provide valuable administrative support to our Attorneys and Paralegals. This position requires someone who is a fast learner, self-motivated, and comfortable with a computer. The ideal candidate should be able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills. This is an entry-level, administrative support position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience handling South Carolina residential real estate closings
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, and, at times, manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Outstanding communication skills in person, over phone, and via email
- Professional, courteous, and client-focused
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; great time management
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Ideally one (1) to three (3) years experience handling or working on real estate closings
- Prior experience using SoftPro or similar real estate closing software is strongly preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with the preparation and review of legal documents related to real estate transactions
- Conducting research that is pertinent to real estate closings
- Preparing and reviewing contracts and ordering title work
- Preparing routine engagement letters and managing their distribution and execution
- Managing deadlines and maintaining organized files for easy retrieval
- Interacting with clients, other legal professionals, third-party vendors and government agencies in a courteous manner
- Requesting and obtaining payoff information for real estate closings in timely manner and ensuring payoffs are received and satisfied
- Prepare and distribute final closing packages to clients, lenders and third-parties as needed
- Providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
- Filing and recording documents as needed
