Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Cook dishes with precision, ensuring consistency, presentation, and quality in every plate served
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Support menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability for daily operations
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to uphold health standards
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed
- Serve food efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and teamwork
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting, particularly as a line cook or prep cook
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in basic cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
- Experience with meal preparation, food service, and kitchen operations
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork
